I'm Joe. I was born in the U.K., where I first dabbled in filmmaking on Super 8 and 16mm, and I worked in visual effects, animation, and postproduction.
In the 1990s, I escaped to California, where I made more films and studied advanced screenwriting under Sy Gomberg at UCLA. My screenplays have been optioned and placed (AMPAS Nicholl Fellowship, Imagine Impact), my shorts have appeared on BBC TV, Channel 4 TV, and at BAFTA/LA, and for two decades I covered the making of many immense movies for Cinefex magazine.
I now work as a freelance writer. Here, you’ll find samples of my writing, shorts, news, and more. For a more detailed bio, visit The Whole Shebang.

I am human, and normally quite polite, so I will respond, as long as you are not a bot.
